Big Oak Literary and Arts Festival

While being Ireland’s newest literary festival, the Big Oak festival found itself in prime location for success under the City of Culture banner and offered a different experience for the people of Derry to avail of.

A mixture between poetry, comedy and theatre, the festival aims to bring a mlre cultured atmosphere than the usual open air festival, having secured appearances from writers like Colin Bateman and Hollywood actor Sam Shephard (who unexpectedly appeared, guitar in hand, following his appearance at the Foyle Film Festival).
