Walled City Music Festival

With a more cultured approach to music, the Walled City Music Festival is the antithesis of the furore of the Celtronic events, as Doctors Cathal Breslin and Sabrina Hu promote the beauty of classical music in the city.

First held in 2009, the WCMF’s summer chamber-music festival has attracted artists of international acclaim and have gone from strength to strength, expanding the Festival to incorporate outreach activities, master-classes and interactive workshops that help younger people work with the musicians to improve their skills.

Given the reputation of both artistic directors, the Festival was recently expanded yet again to include a series of monthly performances and launched the inaugural City of Derry International Choral Festival, in partnership with City of Derry Civic Choirs and the Arts Council Northern Ireland.
